CEDRAV (Centre for Documentation and Anthropological Research in Valnerina and in the Umbrian Apennines) has its headquarters in Cerreto di Spoleto, in the former Monastery of S. Giacomo.
The goals and objectives of the center include the production of scientific publications, the organization of paper, sound, photographic, audiovisual and object archives, the setup of a specialized library, scientific consultancy.
CEDRAV is engaged in the creation of the Ecomuseum of the Umbrian Apennines with the intention of enhancing the cultural and environmental fruition of the territory through the creation of a "widespread museum", which includes several visitor centers, each one focusing on a different subject and defined by a "key word" ( Devotion; Charlatan; Spelt; Pork-Butcher; Cardinal; Lithotomes; Hemp; Rasps; Scotano*, Truffle) and thematic itineraries (the Way of Water, of the Care, of Devotion, of Iron, of theThorn, etc.) following historical routes.

These visitor centers and itineraries are intended as "places of memory", providing "access codes" to the territory and promoting its knowledge and understanding through a global reading of the environmental, cultural, artistic, productive and social aspects that originate the inextricable interweaving of nature and culture.
